Shark in the water

Shark Fishing:
The Ultimate Offshore Challenge

Happy client fights a big shark The shark fishing in Massachusetts Bay is outstanding. Large numbers of blue sharks prowl the offshore banks and ledges. While these blue sharks are by far the most common and cooperative of the species we target, encounters with wild Mako's as well as Porbeagle and Thresher sharks occur each summer. Anglers often tag and release as many as 20-30 sharks a day during the height of the season. We take groups of up to five anglers offshore from mid-July to October in pursuit of these beautiful pelagic sharks. Come join us for the thrill of a lifetime. As sharks surround the boat and become increasingly aggressive, anglers are able to match equipment to the fish since it is possible to catch smaller 5-7 foot fish on light stand up and spinning gear while the heavier 50lb stand up is reserved for the 10-12 foot monsters that we encounter on a regular basis in these fertile fishing grounds.

Flyfishing for sharks! Until you have experienced the thrill of sight casting to 6-10 foot sharks as they surround the boat on a beautiful summer's day it is hard to imagine what this popular new fishery is all about. Fly fishing clients regularly land fish in the 8-10 foot range. An average day in August finds anglers hooking into 10 to 15 fish during the trip. We carry a wide selection of 12-14 wt. rods and large capacity reels for this exciting sport. We are one of two charter boats in Massachusetts specializing in flyfishing for sharks. Until you have had an eight foot blue shark burn off 200 yards of backing on it's first run, it is hard to imagine how much fun this can be. Many clients prefer to do a combination of conventional and flyfishing in a days charter. However, few anglers, after hooking and landing a shark on a fly rod, go back to the heavy stand up gear. Few fisheries offer the drama and excitement that New Englands newly protected shark fishery boasts.Come join us for a day you won't soon forget. Call for a free video and trip availability.
